It made me soo sad to see the grammys be soo terribly 'de-graded' this year, it felt. It seemed the culmination of a littany of disappointments : that U2 didn't sell tons more of No Line on the Horizon; that U2 somehow didn't widely connect with people on their singles-- as gorgeous as they all were and as gorgeous as the videos were as well; that too many people failed to 'get' the genius of this album, when a lot of it is really obvious and only becomes more so with repeat listenings!
Ah well, I hoped at least that the huge tour and the critical success (and even then, my my, some of the media critique outlets didn't 'get' it either, grrr!) from important corners, plus its coming on the heels of all the vertigo "popular" acclaim made it a little less disconcerting for the band.
Because NLOTH is such great work!
