This past week, U2.com made an official announcement, confirming weeks and months of speculation. The editors of Interference wish to share our enthusiasm for the upcoming release and expect that there will be no limit to our coverage of No Line On The Horizon.
No Line On The Horizon, the new studio album from U2, will be released on Monday 2nd March 2009.
Written and recorded in various locations, No Line On The Horizon is the group’s 12th studio album and is their first release since the 9 million selling album How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb, released in late 2004.
Sessions for No Line On The Horizon began last year in Fez, Morocco, continued in the band’s own studio in Dublin, before moving to New York’s Platinum Sound Recording Studios, and finally being completed at Olympic Studios in London.
The album calls on the production talents of long-time collaborators Brian Eno and Danny Lanois, with additional production by Steve Lillywhite.

Heard about this over the radio while I was at work on Friday! It was all I could do to stay calm enough to ensure I didn’t mess up the accounting program I was working on at the time!! And to top it off they play With or without you, my absolute favourite U2 song of all time, at which point I got up and went to put the volume up, luckily there wasn’t anyone else in the office at the time to hear my squeeeeling!!!!!
Is this a new photo? A potential cover shot maybe?
After reading the ‘preview’ on the “Q” magazine mini-site and seeing the video snippet of the photo shoot… looks like things are moving forward and the long wait is soon to be over!
Now for Bono to say “it’s the best thing we’ve done” is par for the course. But this time, Edge, Eno, Lanois and Lillywhite have all said it is their best to date too!
That give reason to be that much more excited about the upcoming album (and tour)
Now if LARRY says it’s great… then we will KNOW it is great. =O)
Wishing everyone at U2 A Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

No line on the horizon, is that someplace between sun and moon?
Merry Christmas to you.
I can’t wait to hear it. Every albumhas been great except for the October album. I know they have enough song’s to produce another album. It would be great to have two more to my collection.
