Whether it’s debating the best setlist for the new tour or discussing the details of the stage set known as “the claw,” anticipation for the live shows in support of No Line On The Horizon is reaching a summer-hot pitch.
On the Interference fan forums and similar websites around the world, we share best wishes, fondest prayers, sincerest questions about the minutest details, and most devious doubts about the upcoming shows. We wonder. We worry. Like kids during advent, we wait.
Will “Magnificent” be the opening song? What will the band wear? Will Bono sport the guyliner all tour? What five songs from the new album will be in the live set? Will it only be five songs? How long will the set be and how many songs will they play? What, if any, speeches will Bono make during the shows? Are we sick of the preaching or is it part of what we expect at U2 shows? What will the visuals be like during the show? Are the video elements that seemed innovative in 1992 nothing more than “performing with a PowerPoint” in 2009?
What will the line scene be like for General Admission ticket-holders? When we travel to see the band, where will we stay? Who is hosting the meetups before and after the shows? Will the bandmembers stop to meet fans and sign autographs before shows as they have done in the past? Are the tickets too expensive? Have you ever “gone solo” to a show?
As was the case during the Vertigo tour, we want the Interference webzine and fan forums to be your virtual home throughout the 360 tour. Bookmark us. Make us your homepage. Visit us daily. And let’s meet face-to-face at the shows to share “love and community”!
