elvis@interference.comOnce
upon a time... I was dreaming of a U2 site like no other. A site that
would push the limits, and be everything it could be -- everything
in-between. Well, out popped this crazy idea for Interference.com. But
history is in the past... and I am not Interference.
So let me tell you all a little bit about me. I'm a twenty-
something kid (24 currently), I am primarily a web designer, computer,
and network guru . I deal with the overseeing of corporate
websites, CD-ROM productions.. etcetc... blah blah... As far as my web
talents go, I specialize in original (funky) graphics and GUIs
(Graphical User Interfaces - for those non-computer junkies), and most
would say that I am fabulous at weighing down a page with plenty of
graphics :-). My friends think I'm a work-aholic (as does my mother). Overall, Interference.com has
become not only part of my living expense, but a genuine hobby and
something I value deeply.
From the dark and mysterious (devious, perhaps?) days of when we
released Discotheque.mp3, to the POPMART tour, to the dormant
Interference, to finding someone else who had an interest in helping
(Des), to building the Team that we now have... Interference.com has
continued to evolve in character, and will continue to do so -- much
like myself.
One thing that hasn't changed though is that I'm IRC junkie. I have
been a 'reg' in #U2 EfNet for about 5 years now. My nick changes with
my mood, but you may usually find me as {e|vis}.
If you wanna know the old stories of Interference and all the shit
that's went down.. you're in the right place.
Welcome to my piece of the intangible part of the globe.
Please keep your arms and legs inside the vehicle at all times.

nikita@interference.com I
got involved with Interference.com through IRC...
I'm N|k|Ta on the efnet #u2 channel when I get a chance to actually be
on IRC
anymore. I sometimes design desktop backgrounds for Interference, and
did the IRC
page on Interference, but now I'm working on some top secret
Interference.com stuff that is going to blow your mind! I'm a
creativity junkie by all means no matter what it is... graphic design,
web design, cd-rom design, photography, sewing, poetry, crafts, cake
decorating, etc. I love the TV show "La
Femme Nikita"... however since
I don't have cable right now I haven't been able to watch it!
Have my AA degree and a couple years worth of experience in the design
and print industry... I can't say that I've been a lifelong U2 fan or
an avid Wire-ling, however I do love the music and I appreciate how
creative and different U2 has always been and how they are always
striving to be better... Anyway, thanks for letting me be member of
this partly demented but truly cool team :)

Katrina

kat@interference.com Greetings U2 fans, my name is Kat. I've been a U2 fanatic since
"Mysterious Ways" caught my attention, and "One" blew me away. From
there, I moved backwards in time buying "Under A Blood Red Sky," and I couldn't believe
I hadn't paid much attention to this band before.
Coming into college, I thought I had pretty good size U2 collection, and then I was
introduced to bootlegs. I later was bitten by the homepage bug, and my little hobby soon
gave way to Van Diemen's Land,
which later gave birth to the ZooNews Archive. Then, Des stepped in, offered me fame and
software, and here I am today! Go figure. I'm ready for what's next!

Dustin Hall
dustin@u2links.com
I'm Dustin Hall, a young (currently 18) student and founder of the
U2Links site. My discovery of U2 came in 1992, after hearing a song from Achtung Baby on the radio. Shortly after seeing my first U2 concert in that same year, I became involved with the U2 online community. In 1994 I created U2Links, housing a large directory of U2 sites on the web (among other things). It's been an interesting ride thus far.
Indeed, I've met some fascinating people and had many great experiences in the process of being a U2 fan. The number of fans on the net has grown exponentially over the past several years, but we're all united by one love.
I'm pleased to be a part of this group of people that comprises Team Interference, and I look forward to what lies ahead.

Elvis works in mysterious ways. After a brief dislike of the site and
the man behind it I got to learn him a little better and found out
that he is a decent chap. Really! :P
Back in 1996 Joel asked
if I wanted to contribute to the site but I was a bit reluctant.
Anyhow, I let Interference.com host a mirror of the "Discotheque
Diary" pages from my previous U2 site, Expect
Nothing. Much later, when I didn't have enough time to keep my
site alive and it had not been updated for quite some time, I was
again asked by Joel if I wanted to help out. This time I accepted the
invitation, but little did I know about the journey ahead.
The early days seem a bit
blur to me now and I can't remember all the details. But, thanks to
Joel's perseverance, a team of very skilled individuals were brought
together in what we like to call Team Interference. My contribution to
the team and the site includes a bunch of secret (at this time)
projects, the Pop Invaders game,
u2 remixes, rare multimedia and programming.
I'm a 28 year old IT
consultant from Stockholm, Sweden. Shortly after getting my first CD
player I bought Achtung Baby and I've been a U2 fan ever since. Within
a year I had bought all albums and most of the CD singles. I joined Wire
in 1995 and it was around this time that my collection started to
grow.
My interest in U2 and
collecting inspired me to make a website devoted to them. The site was
called Expect
Nothing and it featured mostly stuff not found on other sites. You
can find some of the old pages like the U2 POP EPK and The Unofficial
U2 Studio Cam Archives here on Interference.com.
I'm presently in charge
of the Swedish mailing list "U2
Sverige" and I'm a member of the @U2
Collectors group. I've also done some work to help enhance FLOM.
Look forward to great
things to come. Don't say I didn't warn you! :-)

Kevin Campisi

Way back in 1997, I had
this vision of an internet home, where fans from around the world who
were interested in following the PopMart Tour could gather, talk
about the tour and the shows, trade tickets, rides, and possibly make
friends for life.
With the help of Eran Lahav, the result of that was PopTour97.com
(currently U2onTour.com). While we had hopes, I never dreamed
that it would get as big as it did (7,000 users a day from 12
countries) and affect so many lives.
That being said, I almost didn't do it for this tour. But thanks to
Joel and that infectious enthusiasm that he has, before I knew it I
was working 18 hours a day to get it finished by the day the dates
were released. (U2Tour.com)
Anyway, stop reading this and go put something
in those databases. You never know who you might meet, and
how that experience may totally affect your life.
See you on the road...

ShadowROM
shadowrom@interference.com
Not much is known about this mysterious
individual. We have had reports that he sucks down Jolt Cola by the 12-pack, but
this has not been confirmed. We do know that he hosts some sort of strange internet game
for nerds, which is currently located at ACCESS DENIED, where apparently he likes to taunt his visitors with seemingly impossible
riddles. We have also had reports of ShadowROM uploading custom MP3 files to MP3.com in
the techno section, but we shudder to think what sort of strange tunes this character
would conceive. There is only 1 photo known to exist of ShadowROM, all other people who
have reportedly seen him have mysteriously disappeared (mysteriously, because there is
always a residue of Jolt Cola left behind...). ShadowROM (if he is the real
ShadowROM)
apparently created the Interference news ticker program, which he uploads to Interference
servers in the wee hours. Who knows what his motives are, because, frankly, we didn't ask
him to create a ticker -- but we like it so we let him.

john@interference.com
I'm a 20-something computer programmer, originally from beautiful Long Island, NY.
I became a U2 fan around the time that Achtung Baby was released. That
may seem like coming a bit late to the party, but the thing that sparked my interest was
actually a Wide Awake in America
cassette (remember those?) that my high school cross country team used to play on the way
to our meets. Being the obsessive person that I am, I started from Boy and bought every U2 album I could find.
When I got to college (Boston University, B.S. in
Computer Engineering, 1997) I went nuts with the singles,
b-sides, and rarities.
But when I searched the web for U2 lyrics, I was disappointed in the accuracy of what I
found. After a few late nights, The U2 Lyrics Archive was born, and
it lives on to this day here at Interference.com.

Christine Spencer
shecatu2@interference.comAchtung babies! By day, I am Christine Spencer, mild-mannered news assistant and weekend reporter. By night, I am SheCatU2 (notice the subtle reference to an early U2 hit), scouring the darkest depths of the Internet to bring YOU the latest and greatest in U2 news.
Okay, a little history...I was a fairweather U2 fan during the Joshua Tree release, but I became hooked around the Achtung Baby/Zoo tour era. I think it was Bono's PVC vinyl pants. I have a weakness for anything shiny and glittery. Since then, what can I say? U2 old and new...I love it all.
I tripped into Wire around 1995, and I've been there ever since. I know Wire has had its ups and downs, but I've never met a Wireling I didn't like. Viva Wire! Viva Interference! Viva U2! Look for me during the next tour. I'll be the one in the vinyl pants.

spleeen@interference.comLike
most of those before me, I too was asked to join Interference.com
through the efnet channel #U2 on IRC. Here and also on a variety
of chat programs on the net, I am known as spleeen.. yes, that's 3 e's
and not 2! However, the true way of saying it is by overemphasizing
the "eee" so that you end up with spleeeeeeeeeen!!
Although loving singles such as Pride (In The Name Of Love) through to
those from Achtung Baby, my love of U2's music did not develop into a
full blown obsession until Zooropa was released. Once I saw the
video clip for Numb, I was truly hooked, and since then I have strived
to get everything ever released by U2 -- mind you, rather
unsuccessfully thus far. Despite this tragedy, I do however run
a website known as "Rejoice" where I upload rare and obscure
tracks by the boys that are no longer in print or extremely hard
to find. Come by and have a look sometime!
